We aspire to maintain the best plant material and knowledge to make that experience a joyful one." -Jon Merrill, owner | Company history The beautiful piece of property, located just 1.5 miles from downtown, used to occupy Hilltop Grocery. Later the property became Whitewater Gardens. It became the town's center of landscape supplies and plant material. In an effort to revitalize the property and to bring quality plants and horticultural knowledge to the Brevard area, A Garden on the Hilltop was opened in 2005. | MEET JON! Jon Merrill, the owner and operator, is a Brevard native. Jon has a Bachelor's Degree from Duke University (GO DEVILS!) and returned to school to receive an Associates degree in Horticulture. He has worked for Southern Living Magazine, has been the Director of Horticulture for Jefferson St. Comm. College, and landscape manager for B. B. Barns in Asheville. He has a wide variety of knowledge and experience with plant material and landscape issues. Stop by and say hi! |
